Drawing


Course Objective:


  • To introduce students to the basic theory of drawing, as a result of practiced perception as a basis for visual expression.
  • To study the elements of drawing: line, form. value, dimension, and composition.
  • To develop knowledge and skill in methods and materials of drawing media.
  • To become familiar with the exhibition, as a means of sharing artistic work with the public.

Value Study

"Suede Jacket"

This was an outside assignment to do a drawing with value so I did a "14"x"12" using charcoal pencil and blending technique's the subject I used was my suede jacket draped over a chair.

This was a fun item to do, I had do a small color pencil sketch on a piece of tracing paper many years earlier. When I showed this sketch to my Drawing teacher he said why not bring it to life so I did. The materials I used was styrofoam,acrylic paint string and some beads This item I call"The Lion" measures 19x3x32 I submitted this as well as 2 other 3 dimension pieces in our local fair and this piece and another on receive 1st place ribbons.
